Hello Everyone, 

 

Welcome to my latest venture. If you're new, you're in luck. If you're not, well, thank you so much for coming back.

I started my instagram page @emotional_octopus in 2021 as a personalized archive of my favorite memes. (Usually somewhat peverse in nature.) I found that a decent percentage of my favorite memes were on pages that were private -- meaning I couldn't share them with everyone I wanted to unless they were also following that page. (I know what you're thinking. I could have just screen-shotted and sent them but I wanted it to look nice too!)

And thus, my meme page was born. 

Another huge reason for the creation of my page was for it to be a creative outlet on days I was feeling debilitatingly depressed. When I didn't have the energy to get out of bed for days, I always had it to look forward to. A place I could just post silly things and have a laugh while scrolling through. Even on my worst/darkest days, I still remember it being one of the few things that brought me solace -- however far fetched that it might sound. 

I honestly didn't give it much thought until I received a message from a follower (who I can now call a dear comrade.) She was shocked that I wasn't a dude (lol) and told me how much she enjoyed my curation..and the rest is history. 

So thank you all for helping make this possible! Life can be cruel at times, but a kind word or gesture really does go a long way. You are not alone and you do matter. If I've helped make you or anyone's day a little brighter and made you laugh, that's all I could ask for.
